I am going to make this as easy as possible to understand. I play with a buddy of mine and when we play 1 vs 1 on grief.....who ever host has full bars and who ever is not the host has 1 bar...

That sounds exactly like something has gone wrong somewhere between your connection and his. I'm guessing that it doesn't have anything to do with your personal connections since you both seem to be...

An Activision Server problem between the two of you would be one possibility. Things do break from time to time. The suddeness of this sounds like a mechanical failure somewhere.

There can be many reasons this can happen outside of your control. Most of them are usually ISP related.
